Students learn the Ingham Method of foot reflexology which is used primarily for relaxation. This course addresses the principle that reflexes in the feet are related to each organ and part of the body. Students learn to stimulate these reflexes to assist the body’s preventative maintenance and natural healing processes. A certificate for Foot Reflexology (15 hours of training) is given at the end of the class which can be applied towards professional hours.

Rock Climbing II @ CMC in Spring Valley

Class Description:

Introduces lead climbing skills and techniques, problem-solving skills, and physical fitness. Emphasizes the general principles of lead climbing, proper usage of equipment, development of lead climbing skills and techniques, climbing ethics and safety, and terminology. Students must be at least 18 years of age on the first day of class to take this course.

This course attempts to summit the Colorado National Monument, a multi-pitch spire in Grand Junction. Course topics focus on intermediate rock climbing skills, including multi-pitch climbing technique, repelling, building anchors, and leading traditional lines. There are two mandatory pre-trip meetings on 10/18 and 11/1 from 6-9PM at the Spring Valley Climbing Wall. The first field weekend (10/21-10/22) will be day trips from 8AM-6:30PM to local climbing areas. The second field weekend will be an overnight trip to climb in the Grand Junction Area on 11/3-11/5. A nonrefundable, supplemental course fee of $81.01 paid to CMC includes $10 in supplies, $10 for access and permit fees, $60.62 in travel fees, and $0.39 in tax.

Plant-Based Cooking @ Glenwood Springs High School

Changing how you have been cooking food can be a challenge. Come learn how to adjust your current cooking habits to this healthier way of creating yummy meals that prevent disease. This “diet” is particularly great for people with heart disease, diabetes, inflammation – and general “aging” issues. This will be a fun, hands-on class. This first session will focus on Winter Soups, Stews and Salads. There is a $20 food supplies cost payable to the instructor at the class session. Bring your apron and “to go” containers for leftovers!
